Partnerships advance the mission of the National Endowment for Financial Education® (NEFE®). In nearly every aspect of its work, NEFE forms partnerships and pursues collaborations with other organizations to:

  • Provide financial education to Americans from all walks of life
  • Increase awareness of how financial education can help people achieve their dreams
  • Accomplish research in the field of financial literacy education

Why does NEFE develop partnerships?

NEFE strongly believes that partnerships are the most effective way to meet the financial education needs of various segments of the public.

In particular, the National Endowment for Financial Education seeks partnership opportunities that can help the foundation reach individuals whose basic financial education needs are not being addressed by others, including the nation’s youth, economically disadvantaged individuals, and people facing difficult or unusual life circumstances.

Among the foundation’s reasons for pursuing partnering opportunities are:

  • Collaborating with partners better enables NEFE to reach diverse audiences with targeted, relevant programs.
  • Partnerships allow NEFE to leverage its resources to reach more individuals.
  • The power of partnering produces unique synergy and significant positive outcomes.

Who are NEFE’s partners?

NEFE has formed strategic partnerships with several organizations. In addition, the foundation collaborates with numerous groups on specific projects and fosters relationships with affiliated organizations in the pursuit of its financial education mission.

The project offers pro bono financial planning assistance to individuals who could not otherwise afford a financial advisor or who are facing an immediate or unusual financial need.
      • NEFE sponsors a consumer Web site, Smart About Money, which provides links to hundreds of different, noncommercial financial education materials contributed from numerous organizations and government agencies on virtually every aspect of personal finance.
      • The NEFE High School Financial Planning Program has a formal alliance with JA WorldwideTM (Junior Achievement) and the Junior Reserve Officers Training Corps (JROTC) to extend the reach of the program.

      • NEFE sponsors conferences and think tanks for the purpose of soliciting creative ideas and new perspectives on personal finance issues. These events gather and seek input from experts in government, nonprofit, and for-profit sectors, including professional and academic disciplines.
