NEFE is interested in working with a variety of national organizations whose constituents can be served, and their quality of life improved, through financial education.
NEFE seeks to build trust and effective ongoing relationships with groups whose goals are compatible with NEFE’s. This includes working on new projects that are scalable or building on previous successes with groups, such as The Salvation Army and Habitat for Humanity.
When NEFE considers collaborative projects, there are a few key aspects it looks for. The more of these a project has, the better. Collaborations should:
- Be easy to evaluate. NEFE wants results and seeks projects that it can evaluate and measure so we can improve them as needed.
- Be scalable. Adding on to existing achievements can be a powerful way to build on our successes. Another way to extend the reach of projects is to broaden them to a national scale so as to touch more lives.
- Lead to increased demand by constituents for personal finance resources and materials.
- Focus on helping the underserved. This makes it possible to achieve significant long-lasting improvements in people’s lives.
- Enable NEFE to break new ground through innovative thinking.
- Involve close, mutually respectful partnerships. We can accomplish more if we work together in a spirit of trust, respect, and credibility.
- Provide educational resources throughout a person’s economic lifetime. To truly touch and change the lives of people in financial need, we need to provide them with financial knowledge at different stages in their lives, from childhood through retirement.
