Paul Golden serves as managing director, media and communications, for the National Endowment for Financial Education (NEFE). In addition to his role as spokesperson, Paul is responsible for corporate communications, and media and public relations efforts for the foundation. On behalf of NEFE, he supports efforts for the CNBC Global Financial Wellness Advisory Board. He has secured exposure spotlighting NEFE and its programs with top-tier media outlets, including the Wall Street Journal, the New York Times, USA Today, the Associated Press, the Today show, CNN and others. As spokesperson, Paul has been quoted by media outlets throughout the country, including the Wall Street Journal, the Associated Press, the Washington Post, Fox Business, Forbes, Reuters, U.S. News & World Report and others. In 2019, Paul received the Barney Oldfield Distinguished Service Award from the Radio Television Digital News Foundation.
Prior to joining NEFE in 2005, Paul worked as a managing editor for an online news service. Before that, he spent several years working in the financial services industry. Paul graduated with a bachelor’s degree in journalism, with an emphasis in broadcast media, from the University of Northern Colorado. He is a member of the Society for Advancing Business Editing and Writing, the Radio Television Digital News Association, the Online News Association, the Society of Professional Journalists, the Public Relations Society of America, and the Denver Press Club.
